Raised
in a Christian family, where his father was a Pastor
of a Pentecostal Church, Tinu did not discover Jesus
Christ as his personal savior until the age of 17 when
he began attending youth meetings. His life since then
has been devoted to serving the Lord in ministry.
In 1976, Tinu became a youth leader. This developed
into ministry with young people, Sunday school and
preaching in his local church. After the revolution
in 1989, Tinu became involved in family ministry where
he is responsible for over 50 families.
Tinu’s ministry has grown through personal
experiences and through years of education. Since
1981, Tinu has taken classes through Biblical Education
by Extension (B.E.E.). He started an advanced program
with B.E.E. on the Old Testament in 1993 and graduated
in May 1996. Now, an ordained Deacon since 1995, Tinu
spends his time preaching and training Christian groups
in Timisoara and Tirgu-Jiu, Romania.
Knowing that the New Hope ministries, in Eastern
Europe, were serious about the Lord’s work,
Tinu joined in 1991. The area of ministry of New Hope
and that of his ministry were similar so he felt his
experience would be helpful in New Hope.
Tinu is now the National Director for New Hope,
Romania. He also brings 17 years of experience with
computers to New Hope, he edits the devotional magazine
“Jurnalul Meu” (Campus Journal) and is
involved in administration.
Tinu’s ministry could not be complete without
the loving support of his wife, Juliana and twin sons
Marcus and Flavius. Tinu and Juliana were married
in September 1978 and blessed with their two sons
on July 3, 1979. Juliana spends her time making bridal
gowns for friends and family, helping Tinu’s
ministry, and cooking for Vision Tour guests.
When asked, what his hopes were for the future,
Tinu replied, “My hope for the next years are
to grow in faith and to be closer to God. Also, that
our New Hope ministry will grow and be known in all
Romania. I would also like to keep the same quality
of literature that we publish. Finally, I dream that
I will be able to meet all the workers with New Hope
in Eastern Europe and our supporters in the USA.”
